About the blog

Well hello there! This is my home for my writings and musings on building backends (whether it's pure REST API madness, banging my head over Postgres/MariaDB database headaches while self-hosting in my homelab and adventures in Prisma ORM) mostly in TypeScript with Node.js and Deno runtimes, running open-source projects at HQ and beyond and everything in between while autistic in the Philippines.

Author bio

Andrei Jiroh Halili (he/they) is an Autistic Filipino open-source developer and maintainer at (Recap Time Squad) and (Community Lorebooks) / (Stellapent Cier Community Wiki). A proud graduate of AFGBMTS's Computer Systems Servicing NC II track and a Batch 2025 alum () and former community member at Hack Club, they are currently pursuing a BS in Information Technology at STI College Meycauayan and are based in Marilao, Bulacan. Outside of school hours and open-source work, Andrei Jiroh is a multifandom folf (note: fox + wolf hybrid) furry goober daily-driving NixOS unstable and Alpine Linux edge while vibe-checking through various subgenres of electronic dance music (among others), going deeper into the lore and playing Minecraft: Bedrock Edition and Subway Surfers City occasionally on his Android phone.

Side and project publications

In addition to the main blog here, I also run these Atmospheric blogs, especially over at my other accounts:

  • Lairland HQ: The meta stuff and other updates over at my virtual hacker/makerspace, Lairland HQ. Includes things such as DNI (Do Not Interact) list, the lore behind the name and other meta information.

  • Journaling Notes from The Traumatized Autistics Department at : Fields notes from living while Autistic in the Filipino society (not just the eldritch systemic ableism horrors), sometimes involving trauma dumping in the public and mentions of mental health struggles, hence the mandatory (I mean unskippable) content warnings.

  • The Bloody Hell PH (From the BS.HQ) at :

Alongside these side projects of mine at , I also manage these open-source projects' updates blogs:

So why Leaflet, you might ask?

Personally, paying a one-time USD 50 fee for a custom domain per publication on Substack or subscribing to Medium membership subscription is currently a hard ask for me as an college student in the Global South (specifically the Philippines, where the exchange rate against the USD is as depressing as it gets).
