This Leaflet doc is published with minimal help from Google Gemini (per my draft Generative AI Transparency guidelines), to address a recent moderation action against myself. I am not going to elaborate further, but the recent meta discussion around alums and a Chief Delphi forum thread might be right regarding child safety to some extent. Suggested edits will be published as soon as possible as feedback goes by. Thank you for your understanding.
Hi there, fellow Hack Clubbers!
I was informed by the Fire Department on January 6, 2026, that I have been downgraded to a Multi-Channel Guest. This action was taken following a report regarding some of my recent messages and might be a permanent action. This might be surprising to anyone, but I want to address them now so nobody could spam anyone's DMs why it happened, or harass anybody. I don't want this to be another Reese Armstrong, Ella or Itai S situation, so let it be clear: I do not have any problems nor strong opinions on how Hack Club in general should run or operate. There might be bugs in the way it exists right now but with community involvement and the right balance of constructive feedback and toxicity at the meta channel, it should keep improving every day. Without further ado, let me talk about it, shall we?
First of all, for anyone seeing that some of my behavior may be considered as inappropriate according to the Hack Club Code of Conduct, I would like to apologize even if it is unintentional or not intended to be interpreted that way. I know I am still adjusting through my early adulthood years and college life while considering that I have personal and mental baggage I carry alone while being autistic, often silently because I don't want to look like a burden to anyone or make anyone worry about me. This might be hard considering that 2026 just started almost a week ago, but don't worry about me either. It may be scary at first, but I'll be still around the web representing the community and then some but on the sidelines.
Second, you may ask about what happens to the community projects that I run. This is where this part is important to clear to avoid headaches to anyone and I am more than welcome to take over them in the meanwhile or fork it. Here are some of those:
The Leeks bot project will be effectively archived one week after publication since being a MCG meaning no longer having the ability to manage Slack apps, but since it's open source under the MPL-2.0 license you can fork it and run on your own. If you need the database, just let me know so I can sort it out. The one-week period is needed so I can do final prep before archival, like merging fixes and more.
The planned AT Proto PDS instance under
pds.hackclub.communitymay no longer happen but I still am in the works of setting up a self-hosted one on my homelab server in the future under an invite-only setup so not only Hack Clubbers can sign up. I'll still be working on the details regarding the invite code flows, but I'll be posting them at soon once ready. For the Tangled Knot server, I will be switching hosts (at the Caddy proxyserver on Azure's Central India region) to give way for the planned Nest maintenance by January 8 as well as the hostname swap fromknot.hackclub.communitytoknot.andreijiroh.devorknot.recaptime.devin the future once the Git repositories underneath it are backed up safely.Regarding the Alumni Society (), I not longer have access to the
#alumschannel (feel free to manage the Alums Directory list by the way) but you can still fill up the Fillout form if you want to add yourself to the public alums directory as part of the to-be-built alumni site later this month. If you want to be the Alumni Society maintainer and help maintain the subdomain DNS records and its socials, I will be glad to talk over email, Discord, Telegram or even Signal to get you set up (contact details here). The Alumni Society mailbox may be disabled in the future to avoid issues regarding representation later on.Lastly, the community infra monitoring site powered by Upptime. I am still helping with reviewing and merging Upptime configuration changes, but please expect extended response time as I focus on my studies and open-source work, among other things. Let me know if you need to maintain or admin access to the repo.
Finally, if you are looking for updates on my open source work at Recap Time Squad HQ, especially at subdomain service and documentation-related projects, you are more than welcome to join at our Zulip Cloud organization, with bridges being set up for Discord and IRC (via LiberaChat at #recaptime.dev/#lorebooks.wiki channels) via Matterbridge in the future. Their Slack channels will be archived soon (along with the Slack app being uninstalled), but I'm still reachable at #ajhalili2006-lairland for occasionally updates and check-ins alongside #365-days (but I'll be going to break the Scrapbook streak once things get hectic).
Before I end this, I want to thank Hack Club HQ for providing free resources and running both virtual (Arcade, High Seas) and in-person satellite (Counterspell) events, to the HCB team for fiscally host/sponsor both Recap Time Squad and Community Lorebooks, and everyone I met at Hack Club Slack over the course of more than a year since July 2024. This might be the end of an era I suppose, but don't worry, when we meet together somewhere else, I'll promise I will be in a better place and state. But until then, this might be the final message for a while. I'll be shipping alone, I promise it will be fine.
Take care and regards,
Andrei Jiroh Halili (he/they), your autistic fox silly goober in the internet
